A Meaningful Day of Service & Connection
I had the honor of joining a group to help rebuild a traditional sweat lodge on sacred land, an experience that was both humbling and deeply meaningful.
For many Indigenous cultures, the sweat lodge is far more than a structure. It is a sacred space for prayer, reflection, healing, purification, and renewal. While each Nation has its own customs and ceremonies, the lodge is often seen as symbolic of returning to the womb of Mother Earth, a place to release what no longer serves you and emerge renewed.
In a world that often moves too fast, spending a day doing meaningful physical work in service of something sacred was a powerful reminder of the importance of connection; to each other, to the earth, and to traditions that continue to teach resilience, humility, and healing.
I’m grateful to have played even a small role in helping restore this special place.
May 2026 Market Update
The spring market continues to move at a healthy pace across Lamorinda and the Diablo Valley, even as the broader headlines keep changing. Interest rates, stock market swings, and economic uncertainty are still part of the conversation, but locally, buyer demand remains surprisingly resilient, especially for well-prepared homes in desirable neighborhoods.
One of the biggest themes this season continues to be inventory. While more homes are coming to market compared to the slower winter months, buyer demand is still outpacing supply in many of our local communities, helping well-positioned properties attract strong interest. Buyers are being thoughtful, but when the right home comes along, they’re ready to act.
What I continue to see here in our local market is that real estate remains incredibly neighborhood-specific. A home in Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga, Danville, Alamo, or Walnut Creek can tell a very different story depending on pricing, condition, location, and presentation. That’s why local strategy matters more than ever.
If you enjoy keeping an eye on the market, or you’re simply curious about what your home might be worth in today’s environment, I’ve included the full Compass market report from Mike Simonsen, Chief Economist at Compass, for a deeper dive into the numbers and trends shaping the market.
As always, if you’d like to talk through what these trends mean for your specific neighborhood or real estate plans, I’m always happy to be a resource.
